Michael D. Higgins, president of Ireland, will meet Seattle Mayor Ed Murray and speak at the University of Washington on technology and sustainable development this week, according to Higgins’ official website.

The three-day trip to Seattle between Wednesday and Friday also includes a visit with Irish employees at Microsoft and a Gaelic football match at Skyline High School in Sammamish.

After the Seattle visit, Higgins will spend several days in Northern California, where 13 students from Ireland fell from a fourth floor balcony in Berkeley, killing six of them. He also plans to meet with California Gov. Jerry Brown and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, among other dignitaries.

Mayor Ed Murray visited Ireland last year to visit Seattle’s sister city of Galway, to speak on marriage equality and to bolster business relations between Seattle and Ireland.

Earlier this year, Seattle also saw visits from Chinese President Xi Jinping, Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and King Harald V of Norway.
