When Joanna Kresge isn't writing for the Seattle Globalist she is a mother of two, working on completing her journalism degree at the University of Washington and she works as a staff writer at Premier Media Group. Kresge has previously served as a photojournalist for the United States Air Force for more than five years, a photo intern at Seattle Weekly, and a staff photographer at The Daily at UW. She is also the winner of the 2015 Deborah Kaplan Award for Narrative Journalism from UW, for a story with a strong writing style. Kresge is expected to graduate from the UW journalism program in March 2016 and has an A.A.S. in photography from Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, La.
