Being a journalist is more than writing – it’s about uncovering great stories through well-conducted interviews.
Take it from award-winning, veteran radio journalist Sara Lerner. On Thursday, July 23, she’ll lead a workshop digging into the art behind the interview.
You’ll learn how to identify sources, convince them to talk to you, create the ideal conditions for great interviews, design questions and ensure your interview material is published with precision and accuracy.
Snacks and beverages will be provided.
When: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Where: Lake City Community Center on 12531 28th Avenue NE in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood.
Cost: $20 or pay what you can. We’ll give the workshop fee back as a bonus when you publish your next story with us!

The “Interview like a Pro” workshop is part of a new yearlong community workshop series, “Your City. Your Story. Your Voice” dedicated to harnessing the voices of Seattle’s diverse communities through new media skills and publishing opportunities with The Globalist.
This post has been updated from its original publication to reflect that Sara Lerner is now the lead facilitator for this workshop.
