Ruby Whorton

Ruby Whorton, age 14, is currently attending Madison Middle School as an eighth grader. She will be enrolling as a freshman at Raisbeck Aviation High School next fall. She lives in West Seattle with her mother, father, younger brother, and two beloved pets: her dog Oscar and cat Oliver. At school Ruby’s favorite subjects are history and science, and in her free time she enjoys soccer, basketball, track, art, flute and photography. In the summer time she loves to travel to her family’s cabin on Lost Lake and practice her wakeboarding skills. Ruby also takes an interest in major global issues, and is delighted when she gets the chance to share her thoughts and ideas with the world around her.

If I were a foreign news correspondent I would like to be stationed in London to try to figure out how, and more importantly, why these three young girls left the country and their loving families without saying good bye.
