Northwest Folklife

The Hydrant was conceived from Northwest Folklife’s 2019 Cultural Focus: Youth Rising, a year-long program featuring peer mentorship, youth residencies, a series of youth-organized performances and events, and opportunities for creative collaborations.

The Cultural Focus Committee has identified that the main focus of this program will be exploring offering a larger platform for youth to explore their heritage and visualize the future.

Our Big Neighborhood will encompass four events throughout the year including Movin’ Around the World, Global Playground, Seattle Children’s Festival and a launch party for Seattle Center’s Winterfest.
