Mary September
Mary September took a standardized test in high school that told her she’d make a good banker or accountant. She responded by getting her bachelors degree in music education, a masters in theater direction, then freelancing in the Pacific Northwest as a music director/choreographer. None of that prepared her, however, for falling in love with a South African and landing herself nine years abroad, first teaching in London, then raising a child in rural Malawi, where she found herself revisiting a dream of photojournalism and writing stories of life in the bush.
