Kate Wang
Born in Chengdu, Kate grew up in Olympia, Washington. She lived in five cities in three continents before returning to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2016. Fluent in English, French and two Chinese dialects (Mandarin and Sichuanese), she has worked at the intersection of nonprofits, higher education, and consulting for ten years in the US, France, and China. Her mixed cultural and linguistic backgrounds have given her a passion for questions of identity, culture, and heritage; she uses her eye as an outsider to consider multiple perspectives and her love of writing to communicate and share with others about personally meaningful topics to stimulate discussion and exchange. She is the co-author of a book on the American high school experience, and has written an upcoming book of collected essays on the experience and purpose of higher education, both published in China.
