Giulia Szanyi is a student at the University of Washington studying French and journalism. She is passionate about women's rights and animal advocacy and loves to travel (ask her about the month she spent in Paris.) In her free time, Giulia can often be found at a thrift store searching for another great pair of 90's jeans or relaxing in her bed watching Ozark on Netflix.

Overcoming language barriers in his first days in the U.S.

On the night of February 2, 1987, Szanyi landed in College Station and was shocked by the nearly-70-degree “shorts-and-a-T-shirt” weather that greeted him. It was below freezing when he left Budapest.
