It’s June, and that means Seattle is bursting with fun international and outdoor events. We’ve scoured the Globalist Calendar for the month and come up with five events you won’t want to miss!
1) Black Box Art, Tech & Film Festival, now through June 7th
Black Box is a FREE international festival of art, tech and film running through Sunday June 7th.

2) Ezid dance & acrobatics, June 12-13 & 18-20
EZID is an epic adventure spanning 8,000 years of folktales from Anatolia, through the Levant and into North Africa.
Told by the Cabiri’s spectacular aerialists, acrobats, and dancers, an original score by Constantin Parvelescu, and the musicians of Yesod, this is sure to be a stunning show.
EZID opens June 12 at the Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center and runs June 12-13, and 18-20.
3) Flag Day Festival, Sunday June 14th
Seattle’s Flag Day Festival has become a tradition to celebrate naturalization for new citizens. The Festival, Sunday June 14th at Seattle’s City Hall offers a “sworn again” oath-taking for current citizens, free food representing diverse ethic cuisines, fun family activities, live music from local musicians and an art installation by Yeggy Michael. The first 100 attendees receive free parking or an ORCA card!
Each attendee also takes home a free Civic Action Toolkit, to keep active in our vibrant community!

With the calendar full of theater, art and dance, we suggest you close out the month with literature.
Il Punto! Italian Cultural Center’s Sunday Italian Book Club brings you “Scontro di civiltà per un ascensore a Piazza Vittorio” (“Clash of Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio”) by Amara Lakhous.
Pick up the book now, in Italian or English, and immerse yourself in Italy’s multiculturalism, through a thrilling murder mystery. Discussion is in Italian or English, depending on the participants, and the moderator will be Dr. Gabrielle Orsi, who holds a PhD in Italian from Columbia University.
