On Sept. 27, 2014, The Seattle Globalist is hosting the second annual Globie Awards to highlight our best writers and Seattle’s Globalist of the Year: a community member doing outstanding global work.
Last year, 180 attendees packed Washington Hall to honor our five award recipients. Humanitarian Rita Zawaideh won Globalist of the Year; Muatasim Qazi won for Best Commentary; Jill Mangaliman for Social Change Reporting; Anna Goren for In-depth Reporting; Liliana Caracoza for Youth Reporting, and Abby Higgins, who Skyped in from Kenya, for Global Reporting.
